About F.I.S.H. Vancouver:
FISH of Vancouver provides emergency nutritionally balanced food and clothing, without charge, to anyone declaring their need, Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at our pantry located at 14th and Franklin Street in Vancouver, Washington..
It is our intent to provide a 3-5 day supply of food, called a “full meal deal,” once a month to any person declaring their need.
FISH of Vancouver is registered with the State of Washington as qualified under Sec. 501-c-3, IRS for deductible donations. It is run entirely by dedicated volunteers and funded entirely by donations. We receive no government financial support.
How FISH Helps:
FISH of Vancouver has provided free emergency food and clothing for the past 40 years. In 2008 we served 16,316 families, including 50,725 individuals, an increase of 16% over 2007. This is an increase of over 200 families per month from 2007.
FISH volunteers donated 11,981 hours of service to help ensure our food boxes were distributed to the needed.
Who we serve:
People who do not have enough money to buy food for themselves or their families. Most are either unemployed or living on very low incomes. Nearly half the families served have at least one family member that is employed. About 98% of food bank visitors live below the national poverty level. Almost half of individuals served are children under the age of 18; the next largest group is the elderly, many who live on fixed incomes.
We offer an emergency 3-5 day supply food box to anyone in need. We also offer free clothing to those in need.
We are the only food bank located in downtown Vancouver, Washington, west of Interstate 5.
